Healthy Skin From The Inside OutThe appearance of your skin is intimately connected to your self-confidence and self-esteem.  Skin rashes, blemishes, and aging skin are more biological than chronological.  Attend this one hour seminar to learn how you can create healthy, radiant skin from the inside out.  Tuesday, September 9, 2014  from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Healing Center of Maine.  Facilitated by Peter Wright, Certified Nutritional Therapy and GAPS Diet Practitioner.  $5 payable to Adult Education.  Sign-up

Chronic Pain Management – a Non-Prescription Alternative – Living with chronic pain can be discouraging and unbearable.  It can negatively affect every aspect of your life, but you can make personal changes to improve your pain management.  Attend this one hour seminar to learn how you can address chronic pain through nutrition, hydration, metabolism, and detoxification.  Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Healing Center of Maine.  Facilitated by Peter Wright, Certified Nutritional Therapy and GAPS Diet Practitioner.  $5 payable to Adult Education. Sign-up

Reversing Type 2 DiabetesDiabetes is common, disabling, and deadly.  It is the leading cause of new cases of blindness, kidney failure, and non-accident related amputations of feet and legs.  It is the seventh leading cause of death.  Type 2 diabetes accounts for 90%–95% of diabetes cases.  Attend this one hour seminar to learn how you can reverse type 2 symptoms by learning what to eat, what not to eat, how to combine foods, and when to eat meals.  Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Healing Center of Maine.  Facilitated by Peter Wright, Certified Nutritional Therapy and GAPS Diet Practitioner.  $5 payable to Adult Education. Sign-up

Autism, IBS, Crohn’s Disease and the GAPS DietThis free one hour seminar will provide an overview of the GAPS  (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) Diet and explain the relationship between the health of the gut and the health of the mind and body.  The GAPS Diet has been effectively used to treat mental disorders including autism,  ADHD, Bipolar, OCD, and eating disorders, among others.  It has also been effectively used to treat physical disorders including celiac, arthritis, Crohn’s, IBS, and eczema, among others.  Resources available for those who want to learn how to implement the GAPS Diet will also be discussed.  This seminar will be held at the Healing Center of Maine on Thursday September 18, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  Facilitated by Peter Wright, Certified Nutritional Therapy and GAPS Diet Practitioner. $5 payable to Adult Education. Sign-up

12 Week GAPS Diet CourseThis is a 12 week training program for implementing the GAPS  (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) Diet.  The GAPS Diet has been effectively used to treat mental disorders including autism,  ADHD, Bipolar, OCD, and eating disorders, among others.  It has also been effectively used to treat physical disorders including celiac, arthritis, Crohn’s, IBS, and eczema, among others.  Each class will include a lecture, cooking demonstration, group Q&A, private Q&A, and GAPS resources.  Lecture topics include GAPS Nutritional Protocol, the intro diet, the full GAPS diet, coming off the GAPS diet, supplements, detoxification, and GAPS pregnancy.  For more information, contact Peter Wright at 207-343-2157.  Course fee is $20 per class or $240 for 12 weeks and includes the textbook used in the class.  Classes will be held Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm starting Monday, October 6th, 2014.  Facilitated by Peter Wright, Certified Nutritional Therapy and GAPS Diet Practitioner. Sign-up

12 Week Get at the Roots Wellness & Weight Loss CourseThisisa 12 week wellness and weight loss program focused on restoring health so your body can lose weight naturally.  There are NO calorie restrictions, NO deprivation, NO low fat/non-fat foods, NO fake packaged diet food, and NO misinformation about health.  Topics include; digestion, food sensitivities , yeast overgrowth, blood sugar balance, hydration, mineral balance, fatty acid deficiency, stress & adrenal fatigue, hormonal balance, detox, and brain (mood) chemistry.  Get At The Roots™ is designed to meetweekly for education, support, and discussion in a group setting. Reiki Level OneReiki (pronounced Ray Key) is a Japanese-based, hands-on healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes natural healing.  Learn how to use your hands to bring comfort and healing to yourself and others.  Reiki balances and energizes all systems of the body and facilitates the relief of physical, mental, and emotional systems.  It heals from the root cause and is compatible with all healing methods.  This class will include what Reiki is, the history, and how it works.  There will be ample time for hands-on practice.  This is a full-day workshop scheduled to run on Saturday, October 25,  2014 from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m.  Please wear comfortable clothes, bring your lunch and a yoga mat if you have one.  Cost is $150 per participant, which includes the textbook for Reiki I and II.  Class will be held at the Healing  Center of Maine.  Reiki Master Teacher is Shirley Wright, LMT, RMT.  (Course is limited to 10 participants.)  Reiki Level II is available upon request. Sign-up

Reflexology for CouplesIn this hands-on workshop, couples will learn how to work together to relieve stress using foot reflexology.  There are multiple reflex points in the feet that can be massaged to enhance major organ function and promote wellness and sleep.   Please bring two towels per person.  Lotion will be supplied.  To be held on Wednesday, Setember 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Healing Center of Maine.  Facilitated by Shirley Wright, LMT, RMT.  Cost is $20 per couple. Sign-up

Holistic Energy HealingIn this fun and interactive workshop, you will learn about chakras, where they are, what they do, and how they work.  By discussing different healing energy modalities, you will discover ways to help strengthen not only your chakras, but your mind – body connection as well.  We will also participate in a guided meditation that will leave you feeling balanced, calm, and centered, as though you have had a massage for your soul!  Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Healing Center of Maine.  Facilitated by Shirley Wright, LMT, RMT.  Cost is $20. Sign-up

Meditation 101Learn what meditation is and its importance in bringing peace into your life.  We will discuss meditations benefits and challenges.  We will discuss different types of meditation and will experience a relaxing and healing guided meditation.  Time will be given after the meditation to discuss the experience.  Learn to quiet your mind and get in touch with your inner self, while continuing to deepen your connection to the Divine.  Wednesday, November  12, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Healing Center of Maine.  Facilitated by Shirley Wright, LMT, RMT.  Cost is $20. Sign-up

Tapping – The Healing Center of Maine, 64 East Main Street in Dover, will be hosting a Tapping Seminar on Wednesday, October 1 at 6:30 p.m. This two-hour workshop, taught by author and practitioner Tam Veilleux, will teach when and why this self-healing modality can be used, Tapping is used to instantly lower blood pressure, reduce or eliminate emotional and physical pain, decrease stress and anxiety, lessen the pain of depression, help gain clarity, and significantly minimize the pain of old memories and help one to feel happy again. The cost is $40 per person.
